Ares Armor takes pre-orders for lowest-priced .308 upper ever

Ares Armor’s deals keep on hitting and they are now taking pre-orders for their Ajax LR308 DPMS-pattern .308 Wincheaster/7.62 NATO upper receiver. This is one of the lowest-priced uppers we’ve ever seen, flat-out.

The Ajax upper is the real deal, with Ares selling on razor-thin margins to deliver an inexpensive upper that doesn’t cut corners. Built around an 18-inch 4140 steel barrel with a nitride finish. The barrel has a 1-in-10 rifling pattern for ammo up to 175 grains and is threaded for the included Ares’ MKII .30-caliber EFFIN-A tunable Compensator.

This is a complete upper and it includes a nickel boron-treated bolt carrier group and comes pre-installed with a 15.25-inch modular free-floating Ajax rail. It features a mid-length gas system for lighter recoil making it a solid all-purpose semi-automatic upper at a phenomenal price.

Ares Armor has set the pre-order price at a paltry $687. Ares sells 80 percent DPMS .308 AR lowers starting around $125. For people who aren’t looking for a project there’s always Aero Precision.

Pre-orders can take up to 90 days to fill, although the average wait time is 35 days. This introductory price won’t last once the pre-order is over.
