Authorities report that a subject was detained Thursday morning at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond after allegedly entering the school armed and yelling threats.
According to local media reports, Richmond police are making clear that no shots were fired and there was never an active shooter situation.
Police say they know the suspect, whose name has not been released, and is now being questioned by detectives.
At 10:30 a.m., the school posted a security alert advising that those on campus should shelter in place and those not at the school should stay away.
The campus, a downtown satellite of the school located near the Richmond Coliseum, was still under lock down while, “A precautionary search is being conducted.”
