New MasterPiece pistol uses Glock mags, extended Black Friday discount

MasterPiece Arms is going to put a lot of smiles on faces everywhere with the new MPA30DMG pistol. Based on its popular MAC-style pistols and carbines the DMG has a modular, machined grip that accepts Glock-pattern magazines.

The first Defender Machined Grip pistol is chambered for 9mm, but that’s just the beginning.

The core of the pistol is the same updated Ingram design with an improved fire control group, accessible safety lever and left-side charging handle. By moving the charging handle to the side MasterPiece Arms is able to put a Picatinny rail on the top for red dot sights and other pistol-friendly optics.

MasterPiece Arms has some experience getting pistols to work with alternate magazine standards with the MPA57-series of firearms that use FN Five-seveN mags.

What’s different about the new DMG pistol is that the design is modular and can be reconfigured in a number of fun ways.

According to Predator Intelligence, MasterPiece Arms is working on caliber conversion kits for the DMG and has plans to support .40 S&W and .357 SIG with bolt and barrel kits, and with different grip housings in addition to bolts and barrels, FN 5.7x28mm and .45 ACP.

The new grip unit has a Glock-like grip angle, integral beavertail and finger-grooves for improved handling. It sports a low-profile magazine release and will ship with grip decals for extra traction.

A few other improvements have been tossed in, like a short Picatinny rail in front of the trigger guard for use with weaponlights and laser sights, a single-point sling bracket on the back and updated, fully-adjustable iron sights.

While they’re currently out of stock, MasterPiece Arms makes pistol brace and M4 stock adapters for these pistols, too, for SIG SB 15 arm braces or proper NFA-regulated buttstocks.

The MPA30DMG will ship with a variety of Cerakote finish options including black, flat dark earth, burnt bronze and tungsten.
