An 18-year-old boy is dead after he apparently tried to rob a guy at gunpoint in Washington, D.C. last week. Channel Johnson is said to have approached his intended target, pointed a sawed off shotgun at him and announced a robbery.
However, the unidentified 22-year-old wasn’t ready to become a victim quite so easily. A struggle ensued, the would-be victim gained control of the shotgun and then turned it on Johnson and shot him an unknown number of times.
Johnson was rushed to a local hospital where he died a short time later.
The would-be victim is not facing any charges, as he acted in self-defense.
The incident was one of several shootings in the same day within close proximity in the city.
