CZ adding and updating more than 60 new guns for 2015

It’s the time of year when firearms manufacturers announce big updates and new additions to their catalog and updated models and flashy flagship products are downright expected when the new year rolls around, but what CZ’s been prepping is nothing short of massive.

CZ-USA is a company with a dedicated fan base for a reason. Their attention to detail, quality control, and affordability make their guns desirable, not to mention their wide variety of products tailor-fit for specific uses.

In recent years demand for their guns has put pressure on CZ to pare down their catalog and focus on their bread and butter products but 2015’s going to be different. CZ-USA is adding and updating 67 new firearms this year with a focus on task-oriented rifles with a handful of new shotguns and pistols in the mix.

It’s important to know that CZ products can be elusive at times, especially with some of their more specialized firearms. If you see something you want, buy it right away. Put it on layaway if you need to. Too often people mull these decisions and before you know it, the guns are gone. And while CZ is no slouch at building guns, here in America we’re even better at buying them, so remember to act fast.

CZ-USA is really focused on their rifles this year, from their humble trainers to their precision rifles and even some very big game guns.

The rifle to see the most expansion is their micro Mauser-action Model 527. Chambered for .223 Remington or 7.62x39mm, these bolt-action rifles are great all-purpose guns that combine classic looks, affordability and accuracy.

The 527 series is getting 11 new models including left-handed variants and youth models with compact stocks. The company is adding thumbhole variants to the series along with a Mannlicher model in .223 and several new Lux models as well.

All the new updated 527s are priced between $700 and $800 making them just as affordable as ever.

CZ-USA is adding a couple new Craig Boddington-edition 550s to the mix, for right- and left-handers looking for a sharp new .375 H&H Magnum for professional and dangerous game hunting. They’re also adding a pair of synthetic-stocked 557 rifles chambered for .270 Winchester and .30-06 Springfield.

The company is adding a lot of new shotguns to the mix, including 600-series pump-action 12-gauge shotguns with new camo finishes, 700-series semi-automatic 12- and 20-gauge shotguns ranging from traditional bird-hunting variants to the most practical and the most tactical.

CZ’s utility shotguns are also very affordable, priced around $400 for the pump guns and their semi-auto shotguns starting at just $500 at topping out at less than $700.

And as always, CZ-USA’s website lists their MSRPs, and real-world prices are always considerably less than suggested retail prices.

They’re adding one new model to their 800 series, the Model 812 Waterfowl. This interesting new addition isn’t gas-operated like their other semi-auto shotguns, but rather, recoil-operated, presumably using an inertia-operated recoil assembly. This action, made famous by Beretta, is very clean and reliable no matter how many rounds have been put down the pipe.

Additionally CZ-USA is adding several new side-by-side and over-under shotguns to their catalog starting at a little under $1,000 and peaking at just over $3,000 for their modular Standard Grade competition shotguns. CZ is also launching their first left-handed over-under, the Southpaw Sterling, price at $999 on the nose.

Dan Wesson is getting in on the action with a trio of 1911s including a new 10mm Auto with their updated Silverbacks. The Silverback will also be offered in .45 ACP. Rounding out the new 1911s is the Dan Wesson Valkerie, a concealed-carry model with the alloy frame of their ECO with a longer slide and barrel.

These are priced around $2,000 meaning the world has come to recognize how fantastic Dan Wesson 1911s really are. They’re still pretty competitive, though, given their excellent quality and meticulous attention to detail.

CZ-USA is also launching a few new variants of their iconic CZ-75 with their competition-centric Shadow Tac and Target II pistols. These pistols, built by CZ Custom, feature a host of pre-installed, tuned, aftermarket parts to make them the best of the best.

But the star of the show has got to be the CZ-75 40th Anniversary edition. This detailed, hand-engraved and colorfully-finished CZ-75 pistol sports rainbow nitride controls and royal-hued California birdseye maple grips dyed to match.

Only 1,000 of these will be made and they will be highly sought after world-’round. Remember, if you want one, the first time you see one for sale may also be the last time.
