Group claiming to be ISIS hacked US military social media accounts (VIDEO)

The YouTube channel and Twitter accounts of the United States Central Command were hacked Monday by individuals claiming to be associated with ISIS.

The Twitter profile image was replaced with a pro-Islamic image and various tweets were posted.

“ISIS is already here, we are in your PCs, in each military base,” claimed one message from the hackers. “With Allah’s permission we are in CENTCOM now.”

The hackers later posted a more disturbing message, which claimed, “AMERICAN SOLDIERS, WE ARE COMING, WATCH YOUR BACK.”

However, authorities assure that the social media accounts “reside on commercial, non-Defense Department servers” and no sensitive information was compromised during the hack, which lasted about half an hour.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said they are “examining and investigating the extent of the incident.”

“This is something we are obviously looking into and something we take seriously,” Earnest said, adding that although there wasn’t currently a lot of information known about the cyber attack, he did indicate that there is a “pretty significant difference” between “a large data breach and the hacking of a Twitter account.”
