Burglar gets socked in the eye after punching former female weightlifter (VIDEO)

A couple who broke into a Deland, Florida, home last week was surprised when they were confronted by the homeowner’s daughter, but even more surprised to find out that a punch to the face didn’t phase the former weightlifter who immediately fought back.

Kimberly Jarrell knocked on the front door of the home and when there was no answer, Tobias Cobb forced his way inside and began taking items. But in the midst of his heist, Margaret Gulla caught him red handed, stuffing her mother’s jewelry into a backpack.

Gulla grabbed Cobb and asked what he was doing in her parents’ house, and Cobb reacted by punching Gulla in the face.

“He hit me, so I socked him in his eye and he was trying to get away and I had him by his shirt and I wouldn’t let go,” the former weightlifter explained.

Cobb was eventually able to get away and fled from the home, but with the help of a neighbor, was later caught.

Cobb now faces charges for burglary with assault/battery, burglary of an occupied structure, grand theft, depriving the use of 911, resisting an officer without violence, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief. Jarrell, who was seen by a witness with Cobb just before the break-in, was arrested on a principal to burglary charge.

The couple told authorities that they were burglarizing homes to support a drug habit.
