Video was released which was recorded from the dash cam of North Charleston police officer Michael Slager’s patrol car during a traffic stop which ended with Walter Scott being fatally shot in the back eight times, an incident which was captured on cell phone video by a witness.

Slager was arrested and charged with murder for the shooting death of Scott, and was denied bail.

Chief Eddie Driggers said that department policies were not followed during the incident. However, Slager’s attorney, David Aylor, said his client believes he followed all of the proper procedures and policies and that the community will have a better understanding of the circumstances surrounding the investigation once all of the facts of the case come to light.
