iPhone saves man from shotgun blast

A 25-year-old man in Chester Crown Court, England, is alive today after catching the brunt of a shotgun blast, ITV News reported.
Police credit an iPhone, which received the better half of the blast, for saving the man’s life. He did, however, sustain injuries to his abdomen but managed to get back home to call paramedics.
“Fortunately, the victim’s mobile phone took the brunt of the shot and, as a result of this, he survived, said Gary McIntyre, Detective Inspector with the Cheshire Police. “This is remarkable – had that phone not been in his pocket at that time he would undoubtedly have died.”
The suspect, Ryan Duggan, 19, has been found guilty of attempted murder at Chester Crown Court. He was also found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and is due to be sentenced on 10 July.
The incident took place when the victim approached a group of teenagers who had turned of the water supply to the block of flats where he lived. During a confrontation, the teenager pulled out the shotgun and fired it at the victim.
The firearm was later recovered by police wrapped in clingfilm and concealed under a bush — with the spent cartridge still inside.
It’s unclear if the incident is covered by Apple’s warranty.
