Bomb-sniffing K-9 decides to go for a dip while on the job (VIDEO)

CBS News 8 - San Diego, CA News Station - KFMB Channel 8

After responding to a call about a bomb threat at a high school on a warm, sunny day in southern California last week, the bomb-sniffing K-9, Junior, decided it was time for a dip after a job well done.

Junior had already searched the premises and given the all clear after a call came saying that a bunch of backpacks were going to explode in 20 minutes at West Hills High School when he noticed the school’s swimming pool and could not resist the urge to jump in.

Unbeknown to Junior – or his handler ATF Agent Todd Hoover – a news helicopter was hovering overhead and captured the hilarious moment.

“Heck I wanted to jump in it too,” said Hoover, who will retire with Junior in a few months.
