Massive sinkhole swallows police SUV with officer inside (VIDEO)

A Sheridan, Colorado, police sergeant was taken to the hospital Friday morning to receive treatment for minor injuries after his SUV plummeted about 15 feet into a massive sink hole.

The incident occurred about 2:15 a.m. and exposed a gas line, prompting the road, as well as gas service to that line to be shut down temporarily until repairs could be made.

Reports indicate that the officer crawled out of the vehicle and onto the roof to get to safety. The officer is okay, but the SUV is a total loss.
