Authorities caught the suspect they believe is responsible for Wednesday’s deadly shooting at a historic at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina. He was apprehended around lunchtime today in Shelby, North Carolina.

Dylann Storm Roof, 21, of Lexington, South Carolina, has been identified as the shooter.

Police released a flier Thursday morning with details about Roof and his car. They describe him as 5-foot-9, 120 pounds with brownish hair and he’s driving a dark colored 2000 Hyundai Elantra GS with South Carolina plates LGF-330.

Public records show Roof was most recently arrested in March in Lexington County on drug charges, local media reports. The Associated Press reported the drug case was a felony charge and he has one misdemeanor.

Roof’s Facebook page gives little insight as most of the functionality is locked. It has one photo (seen above), which was posted on May 21, and describes him as living in Columbia, South Carolina — about a 100 miles northwest of Charleston — and he attended White Knoll High School, which is located on the outskirts of Columbia.

Police consider him armed and dangerous. They advise anyone who sees him or with information about the incident to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
