A bear-hunting journey through Alaska with SilencerCo (VIDEO)

Stepping into the wild to show off new Harvester suppressors, SilencerCo recently went on an Alaskan bear hunt.

The Harvester series of rifle suppressors is made for hunters, after all, rated up to .338 Lapua Magnum for the Harvester Big Bore. They can be used with just about any centerfire cartridge down to the littlest FN 5.7x28mm.

Suppressors have become pretty popular with hunters in the recent years and will only become more common as shooters everywhere learn the benefits of shooting suppressed. These cans are optimized for bolt-action rifles and offered at two price points with two models.

There are currently two Harvester suppressors in the series, the Big Bore and the 30. The 30 is a lightweight, relatively inexpensive suppressor rated up to .300 Winchester Magnum. It weighs just 11 ounces, not counting the mount. Harvesters have a handful of mounting options that cover the most common thread patterns to work with a wide selection of rifles.

If you’re thinking about adding a can to your hunting rifle the time couldn’t be better. More and more states are allowing suppressors for hunting and the advantages are clear. The Harvester 30, which is adequate for almost all popular hunting cartridges today has an MSRP of $704 with real-world prices low enough to cover a good chunk of the tax stamp.
