Just another traffic stop involving drugs, guns and $22K in cash

When a Massachusetts officer recently stopped a vehicle in Haverhill, he didn’t realize it would turn up a treasure trove of illegal goodies.

Trooper Patrick McCrave pulled over the Chrysler 300 for a motor vehicle violation and found the driver had a suspended driver’s license. While it’s unclear what led to the search, with the assistance of Trooper Michael Caranfa, officers discovered an unlicensed Taurus 9mm pistol, 24.5 grams of heroin, drug paraphernalia and almost $22,000 in cash.

The driver and passenger, both 23-years-old, were placed under arrest.
