Uzi Pros now available and in stores

After a long wait IWI-US Uzi Pro pistols are now available from retailers everywhere. The Uzi Pro is an updated version of the venerable Uzi design with a modern polymer frame, contoured pistol grip and flattop accessory rail. Right now the standard version is for sale with the arm brace version to follow.

Demand for the new Uzi Pros has been solid, as it has been for the rest of the IWI-US lineup. Things have taken a bit longer for the Pros to hit stores but for fans the wait will have been worth it. These guns, based on the original submachine-gun design, have more than a few updates with the adoption of a blowback, closed-bolt operation.

The Uzi Pro is in-use with the Israeli Defense Force which has ordered 8,000 of the new guns to augment existing supply. To-date over 2 million Uzis have been sold to militaries, recreational shooters and everything in between.

In the U.S. the Uzi Pro has been waiting in the works for a couple of years now, with the very first pistols ashore in 2013. IWI-US is happy to announce that the guns are now widely available with prices starting at or under $999.

The Pro has a suggested retail price of $1,109 and for now, list prices are pretty close to MSRP. Real-world prices will hopefully drop as the guns hit market saturation down the line, but for now they are available, and for less than retail from vendors including Atlantic Firearms which has them listed right at $999.

These Uzi Pro pistols are chambered for 9mm Luger and built around 4.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel and weigh 3.6 pounds empty. IWI-US ships the guns with one 20- and one 25-round magazine where available, and in addition to the flattop rail for red dot optics and long eye relief scopes the pistols are equipped with adjustable target sights.

All of the Pro upgrades are included, from the lightweight polymer grip to the standard magazine release, side charging handle and manual thumb and passive grip safety. The frame is also railed for accessories like laser pointers and pistol lights.

Full details and specifications are available at the IWI-US website, which has been recently expanded with technical info about its complete catalog from Uzi Pro pistols to Tavor and Galil carbines and Jericho pistols.
