Mysterious Winchester Model 1873 a year later (VIDEO)

Remember that Winchester Model 1873 .44 found in Great Basin National Park last year? Well here is what the Cody Firearms Museum has found out about it.

The gun made headlines when it was stumbled upon, chilling out by a rock for what looked like a century or more, left behind by some hunter or potential Old West traveler. The Cody Firearms Museum and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming has been hard at work dating and probing the ’73, including finding a round dating from 1887-1911 in the trap.

Now, the museum is working on stabilizing the firearm and hopes to have it on display, where the next hundred years are a little kinder to it.
