Interview with Atlanta officials about 10,000 stored guns (VIDEO)

Atlanta Police Chief George Turner and Mayor Kasim Reed get candid on why the city is refusing to get rid of its stockpile of stored guns despite a mandate from the state to do so.

The sprawling capital city of Georgia and the ninth largest metropolitan area in the country is currently under fire for its decision since 2012 to store confiscated and otherwise impounded guns rather than dispose of them through auction as established by state law.

“We are now in the process of storing all the weapons that have cleared out judiciary process,” Police Chief George Turner told local media this week, saying its “really catastrophic” to put the guns up for bid every six months as required.
