Dash cam released of officer accidentally shooting DUI suspect (VIDEO)

Disturbing video was released of a Paradise, California, police officer who accidentally shot a man who was suspected of driving under the influence after a fatal crash on Thanksgiving.

Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey announced earlier this month that Officer Patrick Feaster would not face charges for the shooting, which he said is not justified, but not criminal in nature.

Feaster was going after a Toyota Four-Runner that he saw speeding out of a bar parking lot with no headlights when the driver, 26-year-old Andrew Thomas, hit a median, causing the SUV to flip. Thomas’ wife, Darien Ehorn, was thrown from the vehicle and killed.

As Feaster approached the overturned vehicle, he had his gun drawn and trained on Thomas, believing that he may flee, when he accidentally struck Thomas in the neck.

Thomas, who later died from the injuries he sustained, was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration of .15, nearly two times the legal limit.
