FL woman fatally shot by ex while on the phone with 911 (VIDEO)

Before police could rescue her, Jasmine Samuel was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend in Orange County, Florida, last week. Samuel was on the phone, pleading with a 911 dispatcher for help before the gunshots were heard that claimed her life.

Samuel was abducted by David Payne and police received the first of several calls from Samuel around 12:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 17.

“He said he is going to kill me,” Samuel told the 911 dispatcher a few minutes into the last call she made, which lasted about 15 minutes. A short time later, eight gunshots rang out, and less than two hours after her initial call, despite law enforcement efforts to locate her while still alive, Samuel was found shot to death in the trunk of her own car.

Authorities said eight rounds from a 9mm handgun were fired through the back seat of the car, traveling into the trunk where Samuel was being held by Payne.

Following a three-day manhunt, Payne was captured in a Sam’s Club parking lot thanks to the tip of a concerned citizen. Payne, a convicted felon, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed kidnapping.
