Black Lives Matter protesters arrested after blocking Bay Bridge (VIDEO)

More than two dozen protesters were arrested in San Francisco Monday afternoon after they shut down traffic for about an hour and a half by occupying – and chaining themselves to stopped cars – on the Bay Bridge.

The protesters, mostly members of the Black Seed and Black Queer Liberation Collective, took to the streets in opposition of recent police shootings, and made demands for terminating city funds for policing and creating affordable housing. The groups also called for the resignation of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, San Francisco police Chief Greg Suhr, Oakland police Chief Sean Whent and a number of police officers involved in recent shootings.

Altogether, 25 protesters were arrested for false imprisonment, creating a public nuisance, and obstructing free passage, all misdemeanor charges.
