Vet gives back to community through custom snowplow wheelchair (VIDEO)

Justin Anderson said his Omaha community has supported him through some tough times, and now he’s giving back in a nothing short of amazing way.

Anderson, an Iraq War veteran, amputee and brain cancer survivor, customized his off-road wheelchair so that when the snow falls down, he can clear the way.

“I don’t want kids or parents having to go through the snow and possibly trip or hurt themselves,” said Anderson, who added that it’s not unusual for folks to stop by and snap pictures while he’s plowing.

Anderson explained his wheelchair has an “on-the-fly tilt” that adjusts the height of the blade, depending on the depth of the snow.

He said this is simply his way of giving back.

“It’s very gratifying. It’s nice to know you’re appreciated. But even if I didn’t get any response from anyone – or nobody said thank you – I’d still do it,” said Anderson.
