Leupold--not just optics anymore

Walking through the massive Leupold display at SHOT Show 2016, I was stopped in my tracks by the rugged good looks of a new product the optic company now offers — but it’s not an optic. It’s a tough, two-in-one, soft-sided rifle case and padded shooting mat.

The case features hook-and-loop straps to keep a rifle secure. The case’s padding serves a purpose—it’s removable and unfolds into a ripstop nylon-covered, heavily padded shooting mat. The mat has plenty of room for you, your gun, ammo, and DOPE chart.

When folded for carry, the whole works zips all the way around. The outer case has three quick buckle closures and a zippered outer compartment that contains a sizable rain fly to keep your high-quality rifle and scope dry.

The Leupold case is an enviable setup, and not cheap. Actual retail price of the mat/case combo will be around $350. The mat will be shipping to retail outlets in the near future.
