A world-famous doughnut shop in downtown Portland just got a little more famous after deciding to create an Ammon Bundy-themed mini cake.

“It’s just for display in the case and for the Internet,” confirmed Cheyenne Nichols, assistant manager at Voodoo Doughnuts.

The sweet treat, which depicts Ammon Bundy behind bars, was created by “donut artist” Shane Sweeney, but the shop’s co-owner, Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson, is taking credit for coming up with the idea.

“We’re trying to avoid politics,” Pogson explained, “but this whole thing seemed like such a big deal — with them taking public property, armed to the teeth, making a stand that they thought everyone would join. It was a debacle that was on everyone’s mind, left or right.”

Pogson said he pondered whether the doughnut was going too far, but wanted to make light of the situation, which he felt was giving Oregon a bad name.

“I wanted to send this message,” he said. “(Bundy) is no longer among his people. Now he’s on the Left Coast.”
