Marine from famous photo asked if ‘black lives matter’ before he’s beaten and robbed (VIDEO)

A former Marine made famous by actions caught in a wartime photo was knocked unconscious then robbed at a D.C. McDonald’s Friday night, but the victim said before he lost consciousness, his attackers wanted to know if he thought black lives matter.

“I remember this group of teens harassing me while I was eating, they surrounded my table and kept on asking me, ‘Do you believe black lives matter,’” Christopher Marquez said after the incident.

Marquez said he simply ignored them. That’s when they started calling him a racist, but that was far from the end of the confrontation, which incidentally was captured on surveillance video.

Soon thereafter, Marquez went to leave the business, but was knocked unconscious by a blow to the side of the head from one of the suspects who was armed with a gun. Once lying on the ground, incapacitated and helpless, the suspects emptied Marquez’s pockets, taking his wallet, which contained numerous credit cards, identification cards and $400 in cash.

Once he regained consciousness, a cab took him home where the police were called in the lobby of his apartment. Marquez was also transported to the hospital where he was treated for head trauma and an eye contusion.

Meanwhile, the suspects were out charging more than $115 worth of items from the liquor store, Walmart and Five Guys to Marquez’s stolen credit cards.

According to the manager at the McDonald’s where the incident occurred, authorities were already searching for the group of suspects for another incident in which they were involved.

“I believe this was a hate crime and I was targeted because of my skin color,” Marquez told The Daily Caller. “Too many of these types of attacks have been happening against white people by members of the black community and the majority of the main stream media refuses to report on it.”

Marquez, who earned the Bronze Star for valor for helping to carry a wounded comrade during the Battle of Fallujah, said he fought for the freedoms of all Americans, not just a particular group.

But he also said he believes the group is dangerous and will continue to do that sort of thing until they are caught. He said the attackers were four black males and one black female, ranging in age from approximately 16 to 21 years old.
