World goose calling champion Sean Mann (VIDEO)

Sean Mann of Sean Mann Outdoors demonstrates a few of his new duck and goose calls at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Sean is a native of Easton, Maryland. His father owned a gun shop and took him on his first goose hunt 45 years ago, when Sean was five.

Hooked on goose hunting, Sean began guiding goose hunters on Maryland’s Eastern shore when he was just 15 years old. Never satisfied with the sounds available from “store-bought” calls, Sean was a chronic tinkerer. He entered calling competitions and began designing his own calls in the early 1980’s.

Sean won the World Goose Calling Championship in 1985 and repeated his championship performance in 1986 using “The Eastern Shoreman”, the long goose call he developed and patented.  The accomplishments paved the way for most of today’s goose call makers.

Since 1985, Sean’s goose calls have won 19 World Championship titles.  They were the first to win the World Goose Champion of Champions Title and the International Champion of Champions Title and have been used by more winners of World Goose Calling Championships than any other waterfowl calls.
