20mm armor piercing tungsten sabot against Level III body armor (VIDEO)

Richard and the FullMag gang picked up some AR500 body armor, which is proof to 5.56 M855, and went at it with a MK149-4 armor-piercing round, which it isn’t quite rated for.

The U.S. Navy’s Phalanx CIWS anti-ship missile defense system was originally fielded to use the MK149-2 round with a depleted uranium penetrator, but the round has been replaced in more recent years with the 149-4 which uses a more environmentally friendly tungsten sub-caliber penetrator held inside a discarding sabot.

And, meant to destroy incoming missiles and turn insurgent speedboats to Swiss cheese, the round scoffs at the AR500, excellent armor that it is.
