Stranger plays ‘Taps’ outside of police station after officer’s death (VIDEO)

Individuals inside the Columbus Police Department headquarters building this week heard an unusual sound coming from outside, only to realize there was a complete stranger standing outside playing “Taps” in honor of Columbus Police Officer Steven Smith who died after being shot over the weekend.

CPD Homicide Det. James Howe, who captured the moment on video, described it as “pretty incredible.”

After finishing the song, the man saluted, then walked away. He drove off before anyone could get a chance to talk with him. However, Facebook users on the police department’s page indicated the man was Graham Webb, a veteran who frequently plays “Taps” outside of police stations and other locations of significance to pay tribute to fallen heroes.
