Security guy claiming to be war hero busted for fraud, being convicted felon (VIDEO)

Federal officials recently learned that a man running a security company out of San Juan County, New Mexico, isn’t at all who he says he is.

Anthony Gambino, 43, who was formerly known as Anthony Martinez, was arrested Thursday by agents with the Department of Homeland Security.

As Gambino, the man ran Gambino Security Safety Corporation, a security company that trained civilians, military and law enforcement alike for tactical situations, in addition to providing security detail.

Authorities became suspicious of Gambino, who claimed to be a military veteran and war hero who earned a Purple Heart, after he approached the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office about making a training video with the SWAT team. The sheriff’s office, who was also tipped off that he was a con artist, felt that some things on Gambino’s website were a bit shady.

As it turned out, Gambino, aka Martinez, not only never served in the military, but was actually a convicted felon barred from legally possessing firearms.
