Suspect killed while robbing taco shop (VIDEO)

An attempted robbery at a Taco shop in Phoenix last week ended with the would-be robber being shot and killed.

One employee, who was working last Wednesday at Tacos Mich when the incident occurred, said the robber entered the shop with a gun and demanded money from the register. The worker said at first she wouldn’t give up the cash, but the robber wouldn’t take no for an answer.

The robber grabbed the money out of the register and took off, but moments later shots rang out.

“When I heard the gunshots I ran to the bathroom to hide,” said Isabel Garcia, who also works at the shop.

There were eight customers also present at the time, all of who hid in the bathroom for safety. But it wasn’t the robber who fired the shots, it was an employee armed with their own gun.

When police arrived, they found the suspect lying on the ground near the business. He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as 35-year-old Cesar Garcia Bermudez. Employees said Bermudez has been in the shop before and they have also been robbed before too, most recently on Sunday, three days before Bermudez was killed. It isn’t known if Bermudez was responsible for that robbery as well.
