Cleveland cop gives up Pokemon card collection for kid who had his stolen (VIDEO)

Nine-year-old Bryce, an avid Pokemon card collector, was walking to a friend’s house in the Newburgh Heights area of Cleveland recently when someone walked right up to him and stole his binder full of cards.

Bryce, who has been collecting Pokemon cards since he was 6-years-old, went home and told his mom what happened. She called the police and although the cards were eventually recovered, several were missing and Bryce was devastated.

But one of the officers who responded to the call placed by Bryce’s mother is a Pokemon fan as well and also collected cards as a kid.

“I grew up with Pokemon, I loved Pokemon as a kid and I would be heartbroken too if my cards were taken from me,” said Officer James Grotenrath, 26.

When Grotenrath finished his shift, he went home, rummaged through his closet, found his old collection and surprised Bryce with it.

Grotenrath said the collection is priceless – dually noted by Bryce, who pointed out that one of the cards in Grotenrath’s collection is one of only 10 in the entire world – but he would rather see it bring happiness to someone else.

Grotenrath’s kind gesture left little Bryce more than ecstatic.
