Albuquerque officers injured as anti-Trump protest turns violent (VIDEO)

Several officers were injured during an anti-Trump rally outside of a pro-Trump event in Albuquerque Tuesday night.

At least one person was arrested after the protest turned violent and rocks, bottles, chairs, even a gate, and whatever else protesters could get their hands on were being thrown at officers who were attempting to keep order. Meanwhile, pro-Trump flags were burned, fires were started and cars were vandalized.

Eventually, authorities dispersed the violent crowds with the help of smoke canisters, some of which were tossed back at the police. According to APD spokesman Officer Tanner Tixier, officers on the scene showed “an amazing amount of restraint.”

Meanwhile, Dan Scavino Jr., Donald Trump’s director of social media took to Twitter to respond to the protests.
