Footage shows incredible moment student tackled gunman (VIDEO)

The King’s County Prosecutor’s Office released surveillance video this week showing a Seattle Pacific University student tackle and disarm a shotgun-wielding suspect. The incident occurred in 2014, but the video was just made public Tuesday following a court order.

As the gunman, who was later identified as Aaron Ybarra, entered the building after already shooting one person, Jon Meis, who was acting as the school’s student safety monitor, without hesitation charged Ybarra and disarmed him.

Meis was later publicly recognized for his bravery. Ybarra, who plans to use the insanity defense, will stand trial in September for first-degree murder and other charges.
