Slide releases or slide racking: Which side are you on? (VIDEO)

The Mrgunsngear Channel takes a look at the dialog between using the slide stop/release to put a semi-auto pistol in battery, or if an offhand rack of the slide is the ticket.

Some argue that to physically manipulate the slide with your offhand will always load the gun, even if the slide failed to lock back on an empty mag. Further, the tactical dogma holds that using your hand grip is closer to a gross motor skill and is easier in a high-stress situation to accomplish rather than the fine motor skill involved in actuating a slide stop/release button.

MGNG contends it’s really up to the user, and training is everything, which of course is a dogma all its own. We’ll leave it up to you to see which he prefers.
