Chuck Yeager will smoke you on social media

When asked about the legality of shooting at parachuting pilots escaping from stricken planes, the WWII/Korean War fighter ace and first man to break the sound barrier dropped the mike.

During World War II, Yeager, was asked “What happened 2 German who shot u down?” referring to an incident on March 5, 1944 during his eighth mission when his 1st aircraft, a P-51B named Glamorous Glen after his wife Glenda was shot down. Yeager answered that his flight leader, Bill (Obie) O’Brien, shot the German pilot and his Messerschmidt BF-109 out of the sky as “he aimed at me in my parachute. His parachute didn’t open.”

When asked if that act was a war crime on behalf of the German, Yeager, who finished that war with 11.5 official victories, answered and then stepped away.

“”war crime’? Ever been in a war, son?”

"war crime"? Ever been in a war, son?
