3 intruders break down door, only 2 walk away (VIDEO)

Police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection to a home invasion in Choctaw County, Alabama, Thursday night that left one of their partners dead after the homeowner opened fire.

Choctaw County Sheriff Scott Lolley said the three suspects, all of who were armed, approached the home, kicked in the door and opened fire inside. But the homeowner was also armed and returned fire, striking one of the suspects.

The remaining suspects fled from the home and when police arrived a short time later, they found the body of the third suspect lying on the grass outside. He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as 24-year-old Christopher Desean Payton of Gulfport.

Sheriff Lolley said it appeared the motive was robbery and the homeowner acted appropriately.

“You do have the right to protect inside your home and you have the right to protect anyone inside,” he said.
