Man admits to killing ex-wife on Facebook Live video

A North Carolina man took to Facebook Tuesday after shooting his ex-wife, providing a confession to the crime through a Live video, but before authorities caught up with the man, he took his own life.

“What’s up everybody? I just killed my f—— wife,” Earl Valentine said in a chilling Facebook Live video.

“I loved my wife, but she deserved what she had coming,” he added after talking of the “lies” in which she was involved.

Valentine also said he had been “very sick for months” and it was something that he “could not help.”

Police say he broke into the woman’s home early Tuesday and fired numerous shots. The woman was struck by gunfire, but so was the couple’s 15-year-old son when he attempted to protect his mother during the attack.

Authorities do not believe Valentine intended to shoot his son, yet the teen died shortly after placing a call to 911. His mother, however, was rushed to the hospital and has thus far managed to hang on.

A manhunt for Valentine immediately ensued, without much luck. Authorities were able to trace Valentine’s cell phone signal to Richmond where they believe he went to visit his father’s grave.

But less than two days after he shot his wife and killed his son, Valentine apparently turned the gun on himself and took his own life. Police found him in a motel room in Columbia, South Carolina, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
