Newest 22LR in the stable: There is now a Ruger Mark IV (VIDEOS)

Ruger’s newest rimfire offering is the Mark IV semi-auto pistol offered in Hunter and Target models and yes, we have video.

Rimfire aficionado 22Plinkster went live with a great 17~ minute video for the Mark IV, above, where he fires off CCI ammo like a machine at 50 yards making consistent contact (which is kind of his thing).

While the venerable Mark I-II-III pedigree is undoubtedly there going back to 1949, Plink shows why the new gun is so much better: easy take down via a recessed button under the back of the bolt.

There are other mods such as on the lower, which is now a one piece CNC-machined stainless design. The original frame design on the legacy guns used a two-piece stamping.

The hoss of the new clan is the 6.88-inch fluted bull barrel Mark IV Hunter Model with checkered laminate grips and comes with an ambi safety.

The entry level Mark IV Target Model has a 5.5-inch bull barrel and checkered synthetic grips.

Both have fully adjustable sights. MSRP are $769 and $689 respectively, though we have already seen dealers offering them available as early as Friday for significantly less.

There is also an aluminum-framed Target Mark IV that retails for $529, so that’s an option as well.

Ryan Gresham with Gun Talk Media and Jeff Quinn with Gun Blast also seem to like the new Mark IV in the videos below.
