NYPD pic of the day: Recovering a Phoenix Arms pistol

Officers with the New York City Police Department recovered a defaced Phoenix Arms Raven .25-caliber pistol on Saturday after seeing a man holding it after hearing a gunshot on a street in the city’s Washington Heights neighborhood.

As they approached, the man holding it tossed the pistol under a parked car and ran, but after a short chase, the officers apprehended him. Authorities identified him as a 27-year-old man. He was charged with criminal use of a firearm, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, obstructing government administration and criminal possession of a firearm
