GA residents catch DNC bus dumping raw sewage in the street (VIDEO)

Residents in Lawrenceville, Georgia, were shocked when they witnessed a Democratic campaign bus dumping raw sewage in the storm drain of a city street Tuesday morning.

“I was like, ‘What the heck? Are you kidding me?’” said an employee at an O’Reilly Auto Parts near where the illegal dump occurred.

“They pulled the bus up right here. They stopped right here at this storm drain,” Mike Robins, who snapped several photos, pointed out to reporters.

Police were called to the scene. The bus was already gone, but it left behind foul-smelling sewage and bits of used toilet paper. Another witness, David Frost, noted that the officers didn’t stick around too long.

A hazmat team was subsequently called in to clean up the mess, and the Democratic National Committee responded with the following statement:

This was an honest mistake and we apologize to the Lawrenceville community for any harm we may have caused. We were unaware of any possible violations and have already taken corrective action with the charter bus company to prevent this from happening again. Furthermore, the DNC will work with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, as well as local and state officials to determine the best course of corrective action.

No word yet on whether those involved in the mess will face legal repercussions.
