Remington adds rugged AWR variant to Model 700 lineup

Remington Arms Company recently announced the 700 American Wilderness Rifle will join the company’s popular Model 700 series of long guns.
The AWR version is chock-full of features that allow the rifle to really take a beating in the field without sacrificing reliability. The 24-inch barrel consists of 5R rifling which has been designed to go longer between cleanings. The black Cerakote barrel finish works to protect against corrosion and abuse while trudging through harsh environments. The 416 stainless steel barrel also surrounds the bolt shroud for additional strength while the recessed bolt face fully encloses the cartridge head. This recessed design offers maximum protection against case rupture.
Like other Model 700s, the AWR utilizes Remington’s X-Mark Pro adjustable trigger. Like the name suggests, the X-Mark Pro is completely adjustable, allowing shooters to fine-tune the trigger to their liking.
Aesthetically speaking, the 44.5-inch 700 AWR is an attractive model with a Grayboe stock in a brown finish with black spider webbing.
The Model 700 AWR is available with four round capacity in 270 Winchester and 30-06 Springfield and three round capacity in 7mm Remington Magnum and 300 Winchester Magnum. All of these chamberings are offered at the same base MSRP of $1,150.
