K-9 bites woman hiding in police car during airport shooting

airport shooting

A woman seeking refuge Friday afternoon when a gunman opened fire inside a Fort Lauderdale airport jumped inside a police car, only to be bitten by the startled K-9 sitting inside.

Keyla Concepcion, a spokeswoman for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, said she was unsure whether the woman went to the hospital for medical treatment but confirmed her injuries were minor and the woman “was fine.”

However, five people were killed and numerous others injured when the gunman, who is now in federal custody, started shooting in the baggage claim area.
