We dropped in on the Connecticut-based company at SHOT Show to check out its innovative series of suppressors that come standard with accessory rails.

Alpha’s Chris Bollin told Guns.com the company set up shop a few years ago in Southbury, about 20 miles away from New Haven, and have been working ever since on the series of all-aluminum railed suppressors.

With models in 9mm, 40 S&W and .45ACP, the cans run between 7.5-8.25 inches long depending on variant — all of which have a nearly full-length integrated Picatinny rail that includes a three-dot sighting picture.

The quick-set mounting system used by Alpha allows the suppressor to be rotated and fixed in almost any orientation, allowing, for example, the use of optics if set at 12-o’clock or a light if set at 6-o’clock.

Mounting is via a threaded piston with 1/2″-28TPI and 13.5x 1 available on 9mm; 9/16″-24TPI and 14.5mm x 1 on .40S&W; and .578- 28 or 16mm x 1 on the .45 model. Chris says they can do custom thread pitches on request.

The company also markets an Alpha Dog “Dog Slobber” baffle juice for those who like to run their cans wet.

Alpha uses a bright yellow “canine” V-shaped monocore baffle made of 7075-T6 Aluminum that is Teflon coated to reduce staining. The core can be removed from the suppressor body without tools.
