Feud over dog leads to fatal shooting (VIDEO)

A 53-year-old woman was shot and killed in her own yard last week in Spring, Texas, and her neighbor is the one charged with her murder.

Residents say the two had been arguing for at least the last six months, but the shooting still shocked the neighborhood.

According to witness accounts, the woman was outside with her small dog when the animal walked into the Hector Campos’ yard. Campos then kicked the dog, the woman yelled at him for doing so, scooped the small dog into her arms, then turned and walked away. But as she was headed back home, Campos shot her in the back.

The woman fell to the ground and her husband rushed outside with his own gun. Another neighbor ran over, took the gun from the woman’s husband and held Campos at gunpoint while the man tended to his injured wife.

Cell phone video captured the dramatic scene.

The woman was transported to the hospital but died from her injuries. Campos is charged with murder and being held on a $50,000 bond.

Neighbors say the two had been feuding for quite some time and, for reasons which are unknown, Campos blamed the woman for his wife leaving him six months ago.
