Safe maker SnapSafe has partnered with firearms heavyweight Ruger to produce a line of Ruger branded safes, lock boxes and wire accessories.

The lockboxes will come in two different sizes and will prominently display the Ruger name and logo.

The sturdy, portable lock boxes are made of heavy-duty 16 gauge housing with a foam liner. The boxes ship with a 1,500-pound security cable that are both California Department of Justice and Transportation Safety Administration approved.

SnapSafe, owned by parent company Hornady, said the partnership is aimed at raising awareness about gun safety and proper storage.

“Protecting firearms from unauthorized use is very important to both Ruger and SnapSafe,” says Tom Delattre, SnapSafe Sales Manager. “We are constantly trying to educate and offer solutions for firearms safety and protection, so the partnership with Ruger really makes sense to us.”

Additional branded products such as a modular gun cabinet, pistol racks and TSA padlocks are slated to hit consumer shelves in March 2017.
