Patriot Ordnance packs 5.56 features into .308 battle rifle (VIDEO)

Rifle manufacturer Patriot Ordnance Factory fuses the power of the .308 round with the weight and feel of a 5.56 rifle in their new Revolution.

The rifle relies on various 5.56 AR parts to provide a shorter overall receiver size and reduced weight. The Revolution tips scales at just 7.3 pounds with an overall length of 34-inches when the stock is collapsed. The barrel measures 16.5-inches with a 1-in-10-inch twist.

With a 5.56 style charging handle, bolt carrier, buffer, handguard and five position gas piston operating system, the .308 Revolution will put AR fans right at home. The rifle features a 14.5-inch M-Lok handguard for mounting accessories as well as four built-in quick detach mounts on the guard for accessibility.

The billet assembly boasts ambidextrous aesthetics to accommodate Southpaws such as a bolt release, safety selector, recessed finger rest, mag release and bolt hold open.

The Revolution packs a single-stage, non-adjustable drop-in trigger set with a 4.5-pound pull weight. It is pre-assembled in a hardcoat adnodized aluminum housing, ready for immediate competition, hunting and tactical applications.

The Revolution enters the .308 rifle market with a price point of $2,669.99.
