Ruger announced its new fully-assembled modern sporting rifle lower receiver, the AR-Lower Elite, is headed out to consumers.

The company said in a press release that the new lower, which offers a premium platform for builders seeking to assemble their own AR-style rifle, has officially begun shipping.

The AR-Lower Elite is built from the same hard-coat-anodized, CNC-machined, 7075-T6-forged lower receiver as Ruger’s AR-556. The unit is fully assembled to include the pivot and takedown pins, bolt catch, magazine release, trigger guard, mil-spec buffer tube, buffer and spring. All shooters need to add is a mil-spec upper receiver assembly.

The lower boasts the Ruger Elite 452 AR-Trigger as well as a Magpul MOE SL stock and MOE grip. The Carbine buttstock features a six-position telescoping design allowing the rife to be properly sized for different shooters or varying levels of gear or outerwear. The MOE pistol grip touts an ergonomic design with extended trigger reach for greater trigger control. The trigger itself is outfitted with a 4.5-pound pull with a 30 percent faster lock time over standard ARs.

Measuring between 15.63 and 19 inches in length, the AR Lower-Elite is available for purchase from Ruger for $299.
