Barber shop patrons subdue suspect who shot barber over $2 haircut (VIDEO)

Patrons at a Mount Dora, Florida, barber shop held a man for police after he fatally shot a barber in a dispute over a haircut Friday evening.

According to witnesses, Ryan Thornhill, 36, entered The Giants Barber Shop around 6:30 p.m. and asked to receive a haircut for $2. The barber, 39-year-old Wifredo Nieves, informed Thornhill that he did not have enough money for a haircut and asked him to leave. Witnesses say Thornhill appeared to be intoxicated.

Thornhill left, but moments later returned with a handgun and shot Neives in the head at point-blank range. Customers then banded together, subdued Thornhill, wrestled the gun away, and held him until police arrived.

Thornhill, who appeared in court with a bruised and bloodied face, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder and assault. He is being held without bail.
