Smith & Wesson fans can now officially get their hands on the company’s latest additions to the M&P15 line as the gun maker announced Tuesday that the new M&P15X and M&P15T models have begun shipping.

The M&P15X and M&P15T models both boast 16-inch barrels on the familiar M&P rifle frame, but offer enhanced versatility with a Magpul upgrade.

The 15X touts a new slim, aluminum carbine-length handguard with a 2-inch Magpul M-LOK rail while the 15T is equipped with a modular free-float rail system and M-LOK capability. The 15T also tops off its design with Magpul MBUS Sights.

Jan Mladek, general manager for the M&P and Smith & Wesson brands, said in a statement that the company is pleased to offer new 5.56 sporting rifles to Smith fans.

From the seasoned competitor to the professional user, these enhanced M&P15 rifles are a must-have for any shooting enthusiast,” Mladek said. “We are proud to continually deliver new and innovative additions to our M&P15 rifle series in order to meet the changing needs and wants of our fans and consumers. We remain dedicated to developing the finest products possible.”

Famed shooter Jerry Miculek demonstrated the M&P15T’s power during Industry Day at SHOT Show in January. Miculek set a new speed record with the 15T, firing 10 shots on three targets in 1.59 seconds.

The M&P15X retails for $1,239 while the M&P15T is priced at $1,190. Both rifles ship with 30-round PMAG magazines
