This workshop cannon build will soothe you in your time of need (VIDEO)

Artist and fabricator Jimmy DiResta creates a working scale model of the cannons found at Edinburgh Castle in his workshop while you watch.

From a lump of brass stock to a finished product, including a handmade garrison carriage, you see DiResta’s craft at work as he turns and bores the tube, creates a cascabel, mounts trunnion and even test fires the piece.

The gun was created by DiResta to take to the Saunders Machine Works open house last weekend in Zanesville, Ohio.

It’s actually the second cannon he has made from 3-inch stock. The first, in the video below, was 20 inches long, weighed 40 pounds, and fired 1-inch steel ball bearings.

Go ahead, get your cannon and chill on.
