$10K reward offered for info on shooting of Yellowstone’s white wolf (VIDEO)

A collective reward of $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the individual responsible for shooting a rare white wolf in Yellowstone National Park last month.

The reward is being offered by the park and the group Wolves of the Rockies, each offering $5,000 for a collective reward of $10,000.

The alpha female, who was frequently sought after by photographers, was found by hikers on April 11 near Gardiner, Montana. The wolf, which was only one of three known white wolves in the park, was left severely injured and had to be euthanized.

The white wolves were reintroduced into the park population about 20 years ago, a move that left some hunters and ranchers unhappy because the wolves sometimes prey on big game and cattle and often hunt them purely for “sport.”
